Coutinho Hands In Transfer Request: Breaking Transfer News

This morning was an explosive one for Liverpool fans, as a rollercoaster of news ended with the revelation that Coutinho has handed in a transfer request in an attempt to push through a move to Barcelona. But what happens now? Will the Reds sell, or will they hold firm and keep their star man? Find out in today’s transfer news video:

  • Tbone187

Gerrard nailed it…Barca reps have punted they won’t come back hence Coutinho’s response. I’d say sell and throw the money at Monaco.

  • Kai

LFC and FSG have to stand firm in this causa. If not Bobby, Mo or Mane could use the same way out.
FSG have the best cards to their hands with wc comming up next year. The player has to shine although for LFC this season when he loves to play the world cup.
Don’t playing ( and shining ) in 17/18 the player can’t effort. Stay firm as other clubs did with us

  • C American Con

    Love your videos man….:()

We could potentially be heading into the new season with a brutal defence and two midfilders who don’t want to be at the club.

  • special siren

Coutinho has destroyed my faith in players. Do you know this morning I read salah saying he always wanted to play for us because he used to always go liverpool on the play station. This is the same player who jibbed us for chavs. He must think we are stupid. Firmino also saying he loves liverpool and the fans but I know he would drop us like a hot brick if barca came. I’ll never invest another thought into these players now, just the club. And if I see any fan over the age of 13 with a players name on their shirt, I’m going to assume you’re mentally challenged.

  • Ian96

Sell him for £150 mil, no add ons, just a straight money deal. If Barca can’t or won’t pay it then its game over n we move on from this bollocks

    • Saravana Kumar

Agree to that… No add ons.. full settlement..and barca can carry his bags

      • Ian96

Yep. Its time to turn the tables mate. Here is the deal, take it or do one. Simple mate.

    • Kim Törnqvist

Agree, they demanded PSG paid for Neymar in full without addons which they’ve done so they’ve got £200M in the bank easily now. Tell them it’s take it or leave it and make it clear for Coutinho and his representatives as well, if they really want him they’ll fork up if not then they can’t really be that interested. Well, they do have a history of expecting to get players on the cheap relying on their underhand tactics.

      • Ian96

Exactly. They didn’t particularly want him before Neymar went, suddenly they need him. They only want to appease their fickle Fans.

  • Kylian Mmmbopp

    meh

  • herrdoktorprofessor

My guess is that LFC got wind that Phil was going to put in a transfer request and that is why they issued that statement this morning. They were trying to head off the request being submitted. By publicly stating that he wouldn’t be sold for any price I’m sure they were hoping that Phil wouldn’t go through with his transfer request. Unfortunately, in this game of chicken there is only one player and it’s Phil and he will come out with egg all over his face because of his actions today.

  • Saravana Kumar

Love the way Klopp spoke about Phil’s situation….
I feel really bad for Klopp..No manager wants to go thru this situation on the eve of first match…. fuck he is so pissed off.
Anyways… looks like sakho has someone to join him for now…
“No player is bigger than the club”…. JK

  • anonymous98345

Liverpool Offside is comparing Phil to Michael Owen.

    • Riiseandshine

So they’re saying if we sell, we get a shit player in exchange and will win the champions league?….cool

  • MentalAndBookmarked

You know what the interesting thing is from barca’s point of view? Their future was on Neymar, so to build him up they would have to sell Messi, which incidentally would fill a mahoosive hole in their finances too.

But while you may want to keep Messi for another couple of years, maybe it would have made sense for them to sell him, make Neymar the future of the team, buy Mbappe and another midfielder or two and plan all this with Neymar to get him onside and do this rebuild funded by the Messi money.

it’s a big question, but would you sell messi to keep neymar and to the rebuild? It’s looking like it would have been a smart move right now.

    • GOLDEN family <3

I can never see Messi in anything other than red and blue. I would probably die of visual betrayal if I see Messi in city kit. Fuck fuck fuck.
You have no idea how awkward it was to see Gerrard wearing that LA Jersey.

  • MentalAndBookmarked

Nice one Will. One thing. This summer Barca have the Neymar money to play with. Next summer that likely won’t be the case and they’re not in the best shape financially.

So it may be tough for them next summer to buy couts assuming they spend the money this summer somewhere – and whoever sells to them will want at least a pound of flesh.

That’s not to say he won’t be sold next summer – he may end up going to PSG or something (though they don’t need him), but Barca may not be in a position to get him then due to money issues.

I say we hold out and make Barca’s rebuild as tough as possible. I have no problem with them losing their place in the footy hierarchy and no way are they matching Madrid for the next few seasons. We could easily go above them in footy terms if we can get our damn targets!

    • anonymous98345

Financially, Barca was always going to struggle renewing the contracts of MSN. There was an article on espnfc a year ago or so about this, saying that to keep them they might have to sell stadium naming rights. Fans don’t like hearing this and won’t accept it, but commercial money is what makes this game go round.
Liverpool and all the rest will eventually do this- everything will get naming rights and while we are it, the players may end up looking like NASCAR drivers with all the ads. It won’t end with just a shirt sleeve.

      • GOLDEN family <3

They are in a big fucking mess. They need to invest in some top top players and they better be young. Lately they are making terrible signings and reluctant to give youth a chance.

They are on a decline and getting Couts and Dembele is one costly way to get out of it.

  • Riiseandshine

I don’t want to see him in a Liverpool shirt again..I’m all for selling him after the transfer request. Fuck him. The slimey little shitbag

    • herrdoktorprofessor

No. He’ll get on with the season. Give it his all and I’ll cheer every goal and assist he provides. then come Next summer Barca or whatever non-english club full of cunts wants to back a giant fucking truck full of cash up to the door can have him. But if tries to down tools or disrupt the team in anyway then we should make his life miserable for the next five years.

      • Riiseandshine

He’s already effectively ruled himself out of helping us through play offs. He can fuck right off now as far as I’m concerned. Give his place to Woody. Let the South American mercenary fuck off. And let’s avoid signing anymore South Americans…build them up so they can fuck off to that shower of cunts in Spain. Sick of them

      • Kim Törnqvist

Agree, WC next summer too so he’s in a position where he has to perform this season to make sure he makes the squad and is in form / good condition for it. So bad summer for him to try to force himself out which gives in my opinion the club all the leverage to either make a deal to sell him now on their terms or keep him until next summer and then offload. Gives Woodburn another season to be allowed to patiently develop and be groomed into the position Coutinho will leave behind once he leaves. Don’t think we’d ever have to worry about young Woody trying to force his way out of the club in the future (could be wrong though as the cunt that came after Fowler proved).

    • C American Con

I agree. Ship Can with hi,.

  • anonymous98345

our situation with phil, now – is that how southampton fans felt all summer?

    • Riiseandshine

Fuck Southampton fans. If this was April (when they decided to sell), we’d have all summer to prepare for couts leaving. They’ve been working on signing their replacements all summer.

      • anonymous98345

I just like stirring the pot a bit. Fuck Southampton

        • Riiseandshine

For all we know LFC could have told Phil that he could leave if Barca came in, because they thought they’d have Keita and Van Dijk. Now that we made a balls of those moves maybe they’ve backtracked and that’s why the transfer request…would you be surprised? Could have only signed the contract to help Liverpool get his full value

          • anonymous98345

that sounds plausible but who knows. There is so much gossip that it is hard to separate the fact and fiction. Still I am not impressed with Phil, the timing of this really fucks us over. We can’t replace him by the end of the window. I hope FSG told him to do what Suarez did in his last season with us: play hard, play well and you can leave next summer.

If you compare us to Barca, we went after Keita and vvd early in the summer with very strong bids. Barca bids were ridiculously low and they were after so many other players like veratti. They acted like the interest wasn’t that strong, mixed messages – probably to keep the price down. Barca was also shocked to see Neymar leave and that has fucked us all.

          • Riiseandshine

            Fucking oil money….

          • GOLDEN family <3

Or signed because LFC/FSG promised him of getting Keita and VVD in return he was asked to sign a deal to show strength that we are keeping our best players to market ourselves better.

    • MentalAndBookmarked

but soton don’t pay enough to keep their best players. That’s not our problem. Players wanting to go to RM/Barca isn’t something clubs are ever going to stop being a thing.

  • Riiseandshine

Maybe we should have fucked the apology to Southampton and taken a transfer ban with immediate effect…worked for atl Madrid

  • Stan Dinaround

“He has tremendous love for the club and its fans, but like Steven
Gerrard and Luis Suarez have pointed out in the past, Liverpool does not
let its players leave on amicable terms.”

What a load of bollox… We let Carrol leave happily, same to with Poulsen, Konchesky, we bought a limo to take Hodgson anywhere he fuckin wanted… The club is well within its right to hold any player to a contract he signed only 5 minutes ago… Making these statements is how you get backs up… If you love the club and its fans, show some back bone and tell us all straight, dont wait till the season is about to start… slimey fucker.

  • Stan Dinaround

Look, anyone who knows me, and has remembered anything I wrote about Coutinho will know I was never really all that arsed about him, I alwys believe he was too wsteful and way too inconsistent.. Mane and Lallana were more important to the way we played, and they were ignored, especially Lallana… But here’s the thing, it’s now way too late in the window to be handing in transfer requests, especially when you know we play tomorrow and already men down.. Its cheap, and it really makes me think Coutinho is a bit two faced… If of course he really has handed in a request… If he has, Spend the lot on Nabil Fekir and tell Coutinho to fuck off.

  • Bjorn

Man..I’ve started watching football because of stevie g. I got a liverbird on my chest for it reminds me of the fight spirit, and hard work…such a pity today’s kids will never know the true meaning of loyalty.

  • Abbo Dave

Ingsy just scored for the U23s! Totally forgot about that dude!

  • anonymous98345

Depressing news today. Where’s my xanax?

    • Stan Dinaround

      Sorry, was that yours…

      • GOLDEN family <3

        It’s shite. DMT

        • Stan Dinaround

DMT, while sublime, doesn’t last long enough for me to miss all this bollox..

          • GOLDEN family <3

Well then try Datura but don’t blame me for the consequences.

  • jolive

Does this not make anyone else start reading into the last 10 days. Firstly Klopp saying he replaced someone or other with Gundogen and the world didn’t end. Second, the flurry of betting on Keita to us 3 days ago. Third, the fact that the request came half an hour after Fsg releasing their statement, absolving themselves. Or am i just going mental.

    • Riiseandshine

😉 now you’re getting it..Klopp knew this a couple of weeks ago you can bet your ass

      • jolive

that would mean that we have officially joined the awful top tier when it comes to the transfer market, when we were told we were resurrecting the boot room style.

      • SuarezSticksIt2U_Again

Mate he knew this was coming last season.

The switch to AM for Couts –

Two 70mil bids on players on top of the 40mil for Salah(that’s not LFC) –

So many different talking points raised by Kloppo in interviews that seemed strange

Will FSG stick to their guns….

        They did with Suarez….

They want full value…and you can bet they want nothing less than 130mil…especially on the eve of the season.

Or he stays so they can make contingency plans for next season…as they are in their right to do as Barca had all transfer window to try and get this done.

        • MentalAndBookmarked

I don’t see FSG putting out that statement if they weren’t prepared to follow through on it.

      • Pierre Levert

You had your doubts about Coutinho, I didn’t expect him to hand in a TF request, but if he has, then you have been proved right, and au revoir PC.

        • Riiseandshine

As soon as Barca’s name was mentioned coming up to summer I thought he’d be on his way. Didn’t expect him to fight for the move though. Thought FSG would sell ultimately though..had hoped there would at least be some big players coming in 😖

        • Stan Dinaround

A request doesnt mean we have to sell though, Right?!

      • MentalAndBookmarked

the offer was made a little while back. klopp spoke to couts in Hong Kong. so stuff was going on, but something’s changed that’s upped the ante.

        • Riiseandshine

Like what? Barca being desperate? Us not being able to sign a player unless he’s a youth player or in the championship? FSG maximising his market value and not paying a loyalty bonus?

    • If the scenario of Coutinho out and Keita in happened, I would be happy with that, albeit stemming from my tiny footballing knowledge, I think Keita would offer the team more.

In answer to your question though, yes, I would imagine we all are. One of us is also bookmarked too apparently 😀

      • jolive

Was talking with a mate last night about couts<Keita. Hendo is there to slow things if the counter isn't set. So many times couts takes extra touches when using the ball is far quicker. Keita takes the ball in quicker and plays one/two's instead so it doesn't slow the counter.

        • jolive

          what the fuck happened there

          • SuarezSticksIt2U_Again

You were jerking off with the wrong hand again

          • jolive

            hands

          • Nice.

          • SuarezSticksIt2U_Again

            That’s my problem …kinda

It’s i get caught jerking off with somebody else’s hands…and their not the somebody else that should be doing the jerking……

          • Mum?

          • jolive

            isn’t that called necrophilia

          • SuarezSticksIt2U_Again

            It almost was once…..

I’m lucky to be here talking with you.

Never EVER get busted while your girl has her aunt Flo visiting

          • Was it a direct quote 5 pints into the evening?

          • jolive

did you get what i was bangin on about or shall i edit?

          • Nah its fine… I’m 5 pints in 😜

          • Stan Dinaround

I have someones xanax if your interested….

        • SuarezSticksIt2U_Again

Keita a different type of player to Couts definitely and as such offers a completely different skill set.

What he doesn’t offer is the skill & nous to find space in the middle of the park to drive attacks & even complete attacks( from what little i have seen of him) – where that is Couts forte.

          • jolive

more lampard style, but i think that’s what we need, would rather of had both though

          • SuarezSticksIt2U_Again

Makes note to watch more Keita games

          • MentalAndBookmarked

I think he’s more a klopp player than coutinho is if I’m honest. but couts does have that X factor.

          • jolive

p.s. i think you may want to watch him a bit more, he definately drives attacks and gets more goals

          • MentalAndBookmarked

defo. i think he’s more a klopp player than couts is. A real shame we didn’t get him.

      • MentalAndBookmarked

        Indeed!

I agree totally with you though. I think klopp would go for a keita every time before he went for a couts type.
        His creativity is important though.

    • SuarezSticksIt2U_Again

      Absolving them from what exactly?

      • True. RBL, SouthHardon and ourselves have come out with bold statements regarding players. Best keep quiet and just sell for an insane amount of money. Otherwise, nobody would value your words next time.

        • herrdoktorprofessor

or in fact stand your ground and refuse to sell. People will respect you words then too.

      • jolive

not in a bad sense, they said they wouldn’t sell

        • SuarezSticksIt2U_Again

They proved it with Suarez didn’t they.

As i posted below…i believe they will do the same again now…especially as it is 24hr to season kick off.

They will sell when it is on their terms and they get full value.

          • jolive

can’t wait to see couts trying to bite everyone

          • Dennis Chong

The conspiracy theorist in me believes that Barca told Suarez “psst…. wanna join us? But first you gotta make yourself stink so much that FSG will have no choice but to sell….. now go chomp on somebody….”

It seemed so well orchestrated. Soon after Suarez apologised, Zubizareta said ” see, he’s humble, he knows when he’s messed up….”

    • Pierre Levert

no, you are not going mental, football is, not really a huge surprise that Coutinho wants to go, I didn’t think it would happen this summer, but there you are, if he really wants to go just make the most of it, this is what some of us wanted Keita and VVD to do, so what the hell….

      • jolive

it’s all making me wonder why i waste so much time invested in it

        • Pierre Levert

I am going to dedicate my live football watching to non league very soon, I will still watch the Reds on the box as and when, but totally disillusioned with the Prem league
now , changed just that step too far for me, and I hate to admit to that.

          • jolive

i really enjoy watching the u23’s, no diving, scrapping right to the final whistle, give it a go mate

          • Pierre Levert

That’s the thing Jolive, I still love football, I just want to watch it live, I did this at St Etienne for four years, it was great, and now it will be it will be Wrexham, Chester or Tranmere Rovers….

          • MentalAndBookmarked

yep. I don’t bother watching finals with the uber clubs in it (except CL I have to say). If chavs/citeh win it’s not really an achievement given their expenditure, while if they lose it is definitely a failure.

each season the 3 big money clubs are the favourites for top 4 and they will continue spending until that is guaranteed. So what’s the point.

          • Riiseandshine

I wish I could upvote this comment a million times…oil money has destroyed the sport

    • Stan Dinaround

If he goes for 120 million smackers, then we should all go mad on LFC’s dime… Meet you all in Liverpool city centre… Start on the chasers and slowly drown our sorrows with the beer…

    • MentalAndBookmarked

I reckon talks broke down this morning and when that happened FSG put their statement out to hopefully stop couts handing in a TR. Didn’t work of course but I don’t believe FSG would put out something they wouldn’t be prepared to follow through on.

  • Brighton Red

what I don’t get is why all these players want to play for Barca, I’d want to play for the best team and if that was Barca so be it but it isn’t at the moment. Another question ( hypothetical I grant you ) if Catalunya were to gain autonomy from Spain and Barca were no longer in La Liga would the desire to play for them still be so strong.

    • OldFlaky

Think of Monaco, they play in the french league, same would apply to the CatANALyans..

    • jolive

Exactly, Psg are now firmly ahead of barca by literally taking the player that separated them in CL last season

    • herrdoktorprofessor

have you ever been to Barcelona? I’d love for someone to pay me millions to live there.
Having said that, I get your point. I think the appeal of Barca is really over-rated and you know if they really wanted him they should have come to us in May and made us an offer we couldn’t refuse and give us time to line up a replacement. Instead this is a semi-panic buy on their part due to unexpectedly losing Neymar after a less than impressive season that saw their rivals win la liga and the European cup. We should tell them next summer they can have him for £150 million and not a penny less. Otherwise they can fuck right off back to that lovely city on the Med.

      • MentalAndBookmarked

I wouldn’t sell to them at all. This is the chance to watch them flounder and decline. Perfect. Last thing we want to do is help them recover.

      • Brighton Red

as a matter of fact I went there in May/June this year, for sure its got Gaudi and it’s ok if you like the modernist stuff but I wasn’t over impressed, cities are cities wherever they are, we spent the first three days in Tarragona and preferred that tbh, sun and the med are plusses of course ~ so is beer in litres on the Ramblas ~ highly recommended if we get them in Europe ~ deck out Place de Catalunya in red !!
Totally agree with you re Couts though, if they wanted him the approach should have been made much earlier ~ if they did it before they sold Neymar they’d probably have saved themselves a lot of money too ~ but they didn’t really want him then did they and if I was him I’d have been a bit more careful about what I said and when I said it. To put in a transfer request the day before the season starts is not the way to do it but I have no doubt Klopp was planning for this situation with Woodburn playing behind the striker in U23’s towards the end of season and in pre season, I think Firminho is clever enough to play that role and that would leave space for Sturridge or Solanke up top, I’m not unduly concerned because football is a team game and whilst I’d prefer him to stay I’d happily accept your £150M for him and screw Barca.

  • special siren

And yet spineless coutinho stays quiet through it all. Time to man up Phil and be honest with us.

  • OldFlaky

Great video Will, loved the funny opening…

    • Although it is incredibly unprofessional to have ones phone on while filming ;p

  • jolive

Guess who we usurped in the final stages of his transfer from Inter, southampton. Why don’t we just offer to swap him for VVD

    • Inspired!

      • jolive

thanks buddy, not really feeling very inspired at the moment though. Was waiting all afternoon to hear all this was just another spanish newspaper hoax, gutted.

        • I had a wank over a picture of Coutinho’s missus… it helped somewhat.

          • jolive

i expect he said he loves her too

          • Ouch! I feel the pain in that post.

      • OldFlaky

      • jolive

Hi Flaky, the game is at 19:00 localtime.

  • Saravana Kumar

An important player… but not as important as how suarez was for us…
Was sad when he left….but not gonna be sad if Phil leaves… though he is a very important player for us currently.
He needs to know at one point…he is joining a team that is ageing and declining…
Whatever gonna happen from now till the end the month….WE MUST BE THE WINNER.

  • RedUntilDead

Players attitudes and mindsets have completely changed since the introduction of social media. It’s a fucking disease on today’s society.

  • GOLDEN family <3

    I don’t get the hate ??

Yeah the timing is awful but I think Phill lost the patience. I guess he only signed a new contract because he was promised the signing of top players.

    • SuarezSticksIt2U_Again

Nothing to do with it mate.

It’s his new scum of a manager.

  • Riiseandshine

After all that complaining by me. I 100% believe the he didn’t actually hand in a transfer request..just more tactics from the media…gotta fill those 24hrs..still think he’ll go next summer and we won’t miss him

    • KeithSA

I am hoping you are right and that he asked polity and we said no, to little to late to get a replacement and its been blown out of proportion

      • Riiseandshine

According to reddy and Pearce it hasn’t happened..Melissa reddy is always right. Good enough for me. The media will be loving the clicks today

We’ll be fine without him. I honestly think he’s been hyped above his actual
            ability

          • RedUntilDead

He certainly won’t take Barca to another level in the way Luis did. I have s sneaky feeling that PSG might just put a bid in for him to pair him up with his mate.

          • Riiseandshine

            Let the bidding war commence

          • Quicky Zebra

If it’s next season perhaps. PSG is pushing it with the FFP if they get Couts too.

          • RedUntilDead

It would be ironic for Barca to chase him then PSG to fuck them over in getting him. Neymar has courted him for so long now to join him, it could possibly be in France rather than Spain

          • OldFlaky

Like Neymar? I guess PSG will get a surprise and regret they didn’t buy Messi and Suarez too…

          • KeithSA

Yes but I would still keep him for a year until we have found a replacement. If we find one and they pay an obscene amount then fine he can fuck off into the sunset and I will have no tears in my eyes.

          • Coutin-who?

        • Quicky Zebra
          • Riiseandshine

            😂ah well

  • Riiseandshine

I was worried/sad when Torres left, when alonso left and when masch and luis left…coutinho isn’t on a par with these..he can fuck right off, when the time suits US…not fucking Barca. I won’t be remotely sad that he left. I remember the games when he was nowhere to be seen…sterling mkII

    • Quicky Zebra

My heart broke when Torres left us. After that, I refuse to be attached to any player.

      • Riiseandshine

Same here…the bastard…😢 Still annoys me

        • Quicky Zebra

Supporting LFC should come with a free medical insurance. We’re never going to win the league if we keep selling our best players.

          • Riiseandshine

Aw look…at this point I’ve given up on the league.,.the game is skewed with money

          • GOLDEN family <3

Even with Coutinho we were not going to win it. Let’s just get enjoy the ride. Free of expectations.

          • NG

Good philosophy, hard to maintain though….

          • GOLDEN family <3

I’m going to follow that this season. My expectations would be to stay in the Prem and we finish 2nd so it will be like a dream. Whatever Shit physiology it’s called it helped me when I was only expecting a kiss but got a blowy l.

        • KeithSA

Torres was forced out by the cowboys I don’t blame him the club was a mess

          • Quicky Zebra

I remembered FSG sanctioning the sale and got Carroll.

          • KeithSA

No they were just about to step in as was Hodgson, Rafa bought him and he felt betrayed by what happened to Rafa

          • MentalAndBookmarked

yep. it was part of the rebuild strategy which was going to take 3 or 4 seasons to do by which time torres was going to be too old to be part of it. It was a good decision to sell him in that context. Buying Carroll, not so much!

          • Riiseandshine

Would’ve had him back in a heartbeat

    • GOLDEN family <3

He is the best player in our team or say Mane and Salah are near close.

      • Riiseandshine

Not a patch on any of the above players though

        • GOLDEN family <3

Yeah definitely. Suarez and Torres were second only to Messi and Ronaldo who are basically god tier players.

But Couts is good enough to win CL if played with a team full of players of his level or above.

    • RedUntilDead

I agree. Every single one of them was pretty much irreplaceable. You could argue that Luis kinda replaced Torres, but the thing is with PC, he can be replaced. There’s no doubt that on his day he’s absolute quality, but them days just aren’t as often as his ability would suggest, and until he produces it week after week, month after month, and year after year, then it shows that he is replaceable.

  • Quicky Zebra

We all know Couts wants to go to Barca. His Pal Suarez already earmarked him to join him soon. You don’t hand in a transfer request a day b4 the season starts, distracting the team’s focus.

We need Gerrard to put some words in Couts. Joined us from Inter when he couldn’t get a game. We kept our patience in him when he was trigger happy and inconsistent and when Klopp sorted him out and he became the focal point, he drops this bombshell.

    • RedNeve

Never mind having a word. Gerrard needs to put his boot up his arse! Ungrateful little twat

    • NG

Loyalty died with the departure of Gerrard. It doesn’t exist anymore with the new generation of players. Cest la vie……

    • GOLDEN family <3

We signed him from inter specifically because we can’t sign players who are tearing it apart. For this reason that one day he might turn into a big asset.

Though I get the sentiments. FSG tried this season but can’t get the players.

As far as loyalty is concerned got retired with Toti.

  • NG

Great video btw. Informative and entertaining 🙂

  • KeithSA

200 million or they can fuck off a take it or leave it deal. Really disappointed in Coutinho after all the talk in wanting to go amicably if the clubs can reach an agreement and he does not want to force the issue he is happy at Liverpool and he pulls this shit just before the season starts. I really hope we bend Barca over the proverbial barrel and rape the shit out of them money wise and if they wont pay he stays time for hard ball.

    • Riiseandshine

Pretty pointless though if we don’t reinvest it..then we would be put over our own barrel

      • KeithSA

We will invest it that is a certainty. Cannot understand why he cannot give us a year so we can plan the exit properly after all we have done for him rotting at Inter spoilt twat

        • Saravana Kumar

          Exactly!

        • Riiseandshine

I know. According to British media, were big bad LFC for approaching van dijk in April (plenty if time for SFC to replace him) and were big bad LFC for not letting out player go without replacement…media are scum

          • KeithSA

I would be draconian about this firstly the fee must break all records and secondly when we have secured a replacement that we are happy with he can fuck off

          • Riiseandshine

How the have to do it. We have to make a stand. We got fucked off by saints and rb…we better not buckle on this

          • KeithSA

That’s one thing FSG are really good at playing hard ball

          • Riiseandshine

It’ll be the same as Suarez

          • I believe they call it baseball over there ;p

          • KeithSA

            HAHAHA:)

          • Brighton Red

the media are just fucking man u arse lickers always have been and always fucking will be just ignore the cunts.

          • Riiseandshine

Apparently LFC shouldn’t bid for any players..how dare they!? Yet the British media did everything in their power to drive Suarez out and are doing the same with coutinho right now….

          • Brighton Red

careful people will think you’re paranoid ~ I do wonder how the press would have treated Luis if he’d played for that lot ~ probably praised him to the rafters and made excuses for some of his antics ‘ well that’s the way South Americans are bought up to play ‘ as opposed to ‘ he’s a diver etc ‘ makes you want to puke.

        • GOLDEN family <3

Well could we have signed him if he was world class like now?

          • KeithSA

VVD wants to come as does Keita both are world class

          • GOLDEN family <3

I mean during that time when TV money was not there.

And clubs are selling their best players anyhow it just us not able to get them because we are not ready to pay “fuck this world money” with which I’m totally fine.

          • KeithSA

During my time we got the best Daglesh, Barnes, Beardsly etc The Prem era has been somewhat different

      • Pierre Levert

Re invest?, you have me there my friend, does that mean we sow what we reap?, radical times indeed

    • Riiseandshine

Hard ball…fuck Barca and fuck coutinho. We don’t need the money and he can sit out a couple of months to think about how much of a little prick he’s been

      • KeithSA

That I would sign up for you just don’t do this right before the season starts

        • Riiseandshine

I would let him rot. Even if only to show we won’t be fucked with anymore…South Americans are so fucking pathetic with This Barca fantasy

          • exactly, let him rot.Bobby could potentially do the same thing to us,I have a hunch even Can if he signs new contract.

          • Pierre Levert

I don’t care anymore, if it’s true he has put in a TF request then let him go, why bother with him

          • Riiseandshine

I remember signing these players coutinho Can etc..we were told it would be for the future “short term pain for long term gain”…didn’t realise they were talking about finances

  • Saravana Kumar

The worst thing for a player to do… less than 24 hours before the match… nice…..
Every player has dreams in their life… but never forget your root…
Being a player if the club doesn’t match your dream…then fair enough…
So the question is to keep an unhappy player or to fight for our rights to respect the contract.
No player is bigger than the club… but we can’t say all the time and feeding other with our best players.
Putting us in such situation at the end of transfer window …come on Phil… u are better than that in showing how grateful u are to the club.
Well… It’s time… if we gonna lose him… let’s grab all the 222m they have in their hand…
Farke barca…I wish we will play u in CL…and swing the golf stick right in ur arses….

  • FSG need to sit down with Barca board and tell them they already took Mascherano and Suarez from us in pretty aggressive manner. They regularly tap our players up, and we need to threaten them that we will not tolerate that because we are not Southampton, we will never do business with them again and will put a line in every young and future players contract they will not be sold to Barca directly or indirectly. We are nothing but their CL rival and a club with richer history than their club which blossomed in era of one player,Messi. And they should fu*king back off, because Barca and Coutnho (of course there is a matter of VVD and perhaps Keita) are literally only thing that stands beteen us and a beginning of a new golden era where we could top Barca.
If Barca doesn’t prepare for a post Messi era,and I think they are not doing a good job since Neymar left, they will not be a force anymore.
    I wish them just that.
    Wankers.

  • RedNeve

With our front 3 pretty much nailed on,
Who’s the midfield 3 for tomorrow?
    Can, Hendo and Wij?

  • NG

Shit…. I hate it when my friend is right…. Pretty disappointed in you Couts…. One more season is all we asked for but if you wanna go, don’t let the door hit you on the way out ya? Time to milk Barca and take a significant chunk of that Neymar transfer!

  • Redblooded Male

At least we’ve still got M&S! I know he’s nowhere near Coutinho’s level, but I hope we poach Lanzini.

  • Oroku-Saki

Selfish of him to do it a day before our first game of the season. I thought he was better than that. Makes a nervy team even more nervous now. This is classic Liverpool really.

    • he should be benched, his wages are irrelevant. That will be a message to other players too,I can see Firmino doing the same thing as Couts in a 2 years.if we stand firm,no other players will try to do that again,I’m sure that Couts is aware deep inside he could end up like Sakho or Jose Enrique

  • Abbo Dave

    (whistles nonchalantly)
Que sera, sera…. whatever will be, will be. There is no need to worry; que sera, sera.

    • Que Salah, Salah, surely… 🙂

    • MentalAndBookmarked

Yo A.D. We got good players, we’ll be ok.
our biggest problem is dealing with the Orcs in the PL anyhow.
