EMRE CAN has finally decided on a move to Juventus in a huge blow to Liverpool and could complete a transfer this month, according to reports.
It was claimed yesterday that Juventus were in advanced talks with Can over a potential move at the end of the season.
The Germany international’s contract at Liverpool runs out in the summer, leaving him able to leave on a free.
Jurgen Klopp has remained optimistic the midfielder will opt to remain at Anfield and the player himself has admitted he could still decide to stay.
However it looks as though Liverpool have run out of time to make their move with Can reportedly agreeing terms to join Juventus.
That’s according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, who claims the player’s agent and Juventus held positive discussions yesterday.
Positive conversations between the player’s agent and the bianconeri in the last hours have taken place the decision is by now made. The German will officially sign once he is permitted to, but it seems like everything is almost finalized. In the coming days we will see if Liverpool will be willing to let the player go now since they are going to lose him, but it is a very difficult hypothesis. One thing is for sure though, Emre Can has chosen Juventus.
And it is suggested the deal could be announced this month, although it isn’t stated whether that will be on a pre-contract or an immediate transfer.
Can joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014 for £10million and has been a mainstay in the Liverpool first XI.
He has started five of Liverpool’s six Champions League group matches this season and also scored two important goals against Hoffenheim in their qualifiers earlier this term.
His departure could be a huge blow to Klopp who could also be set to lose Philippe Coutinho with Barcelona stepping up their pursuit.
But the Reds have been linked with moves for Thomas Lemar and Leon Goretzka as Coutinho’s and Can’s respective replacements as Klopp plans for the future.
