Should Clyne and Klavan be ruled out, that would force the boss to make do without six first-team players against Eddie Howe’s side, with Adam Lallana(muscle), Joel Matip (thigh), Joe Gomez (ankle) and Emre Can (back) also sidelined.

Henderson, though, looks set to return to the Reds’ midfield.

“I have four senior midfield players I can play now [and] Jordan played outstandingly good in the last few games… he has the freshest legs in the midfield so I would be silly if I did not use him,” Klopp said at his pre-match press conference.
