Liverpool 0-0 Stoke City: Player Ratings

With a huge opportunity to overtake rivals Manchester United, the chance was wasted by Jurgen Klopp’s men despite a weak team put out. Let’s see how The Reds got on in the player ratings!

Loris Karius – 7.0
Didn’t really have anything to do in either halves. Clean sheet is all you can ask for from the German, job done.

Joe Gomez – 5.5
Was very shaky throughout the ninety minutes despite keeping a clean sheet, no the best game Gomez has every played!

Virgil Van Dijk – 7.5
Liverpool’s best defender on the day by a country mile. Solid and didn’t let anyone threaten the goal. Great performance by Liverpool’s record signing. Picked up a booking but doesn’t really matter at the end of the day. Solid.

Ragnar Klavan – 7.0
Was very quite, dealt with Crouch well with some superb defensive headers. Decent performance by the Estonian.

Alberto Moreno – 6.0
Played much better than he did against West Brom last week, pushed forward decently but struggled to keep up with Shaqiri.

Trent Alexander-Arnold – 6.5
Played okay having been in a position he’s not used to, a few sloppy moments but nothing too major.

Jordan Henderson – 7.5
Solid shift from the skipper. Played some lovely balls to the attackers, this man is starting to show brilliant consistency.

Giorgino Wijnaldum – 7.0
Ran the midfield not too badly, was creating a lot and should have had a penalty, also tacked by the referee!

Mohammed Salah – 6.0
Very poor game by Liverpool’s showman. An early miss changed his confidence a lot and wasn’t really getting into the game. Expected more from the Egyptian!

Roberto Firmino – 6.0 Like Salah, Firmino wasn’t really getting into the game at all, maybe saving his quality for the game on Tuesday night!

Danny Ings – 5.5
Very, very poor performance from Ings despite scoring a goal being disallowed for the English international. Has to be doing better if he wants to stay at Liverpool!

So that sums up the player ratings from a poor result for Liverpool! Hope you enjoyed and watch out for the next one on Sunday!
