Besiktas will look to sign Origi come this transfer window.
That is according to a source from Turkish-Football.com, which states that the Black Eagles are looking to bolster their attack. It is further reported that Besiktas have already begun talks with Liverpool over the potential signing of the Belgian. Besiktas President Fikret Orman had also held talks with Origi’s agent in London last week.
Having fallen out of favour at Liverpool, Klopp chose to send the 23 year old to Wolfsburg at the start of the 2017/18 season. A poor campaign for the Wolves saw him net a measely 6 goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances, ultimately costing him a place in Belgium’s World Cup squad. This, coupled with the fact that he has only 1 year remaining on his contract, makes his Anfield exit highly probable this summer.
If sources are accurate, it would prove a disappointing way to end his Anfield career. After all, Belgian’s stint at Anfield is a largely forgettable one, with the highlight being his goal against Borrusia Dortmund in the 2015/16 Europa League campaign. With his goal record standing at 21 goals in 86 appearances for the Reds, it’s clear to say that Origi never quite hit the heights that were anticipated when he signed from Lille.
