Stoke City winger Xherdan Shaqiri is on Liverpool’s radar, according to Paul Joyce and Melissa Reddy.
Shaqiri reportedly has a relegation release clause of £12million. He boasts a lot of pace and energy and Premier League experience. He has even won the Champions League with Bayern Munich in 2013, although it’s fair to say he was never a key player for the Bavarians.
Klopp is looking to add some quality backup options to his attack. Joyce claims Liverpool won’t be signing a classic centre-forward; they are searching for versatile attacking players and Shaqiri seems to fit the bill.
Genuine interest from #LFC in Xherdan Shaqiri, who would provide depth across the attacking positions. Danger from set-pieces, creative, can be decisive in the final third. Release clause of around £12 million makes it low risk.

Joyce also says that Lyon’s Nabil Fekir remains a priority, but the French club’s reluctance to name a price is making things difficult at the moment. The same situation surrounds the club’s attempts to sign AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker. Atletico Madrid shot-stopper Jan Oblak is also in the game, with his buyout clause set at £88million.
