Poor Daniel Sturridge
As Liverpool looked excellent against FC Barcelona on Saturday, there was bad news for Reds striker Daniel Sturridge.
Several hours before kick off against the Catalans, it was revealed that England international striker Sturridge was out of the game with a hip injury,
Not only that, but Sturridge was also ruled out of Sunday’s match against Mainz.
That’s the final preseason game before Liverpool begin their 2016-17 Premier League campaign away at Arsenal next weekend.
Sturridge to miss the start of the season
The likes of the Express have reported the following on Sturridge’s health a week before the start of the season:
[The injury] effectively kill off his hopes of starting against Arsenal in Liverpool’s first match of the Premier League season next Sunday.
Sturridge’s problem is not serious, but it is yet another disruption for a player whose fitness issues have become a recurring theme.
It’s clear that the Express aren’t the only ones who are worried about Daniel Sturridge’s health, after his long history of injuries and setbacks in his career.
