Jurgen Klopp explains how Sadio Mane got injured in Liverpool training
Mane was pictured leaving Liverpool’s training ground in Melwood yesterday afternoon wearing a sling as reports emerged stating that he had travelled to a nearby hospital for scans on his shoulder after an injury during a session.
Supporters were hugely concerned by the news after his stunning debut away to Arsenal on Sunday set expectations for his maiden season at Liverpool sky-high.
However, Jurgen Klopp – speaking to the press ahead of their trip to Burnley on Saturday – has confirmed that the injury was sustained during a collision but it is “not serious”.
“It was a challenge between two players in the air and Sadio fell on his shoulder. It’s not that serious,” Klopp told reporters.
Klopp also added that the knock will not take a long time to recover from but he’s not yet sure whether his £34 million signing will be able to play at Turf Moor on Saturday.
“It won’t take a long time but I don’t know yet whether he will be available for this weekend,” he added.
