Jurgen Klopp explains how Sadio Mane got injured in Liverpool training

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that the shoulder injury Sadio Mane sustained in training is “not serious”.

Mane was pictured leaving Liverpool’s training ground in Melwood yesterday afternoon wearing a sling as reports emerged stating that he had travelled to a nearby hospital for scans on his shoulder after an injury during a session.

Supporters were hugely concerned by the news after his stunning debut away to Arsenal on Sunday set expectations for his maiden season at Liverpool sky-high.

However, Jurgen Klopp – speaking to the press ahead of their trip to Burnley on Saturday – has confirmed that the injury was sustained during a collision but it is “not serious”.

“It was a challenge between two players in the air and Sadio fell on his shoulder. It’s not that serious,” Klopp told reporters.

Klopp also added that the knock will not take a long time to recover from but he’s not yet sure whether his £34 million signing will be able to play at Turf Moor on Saturday.

“It won’t take a long time but I don’t know yet whether he will be available for this weekend,” he added.

  2. good cover story klopp…it was a wanking injury over his arsenal goal or was that my injury oh I confused myself now.

  3. I received a similar injury once when trying to climb through a first floor window whilst drunk. I still went to work the next day… Jus’ sayin’ is all… ;p

    1. The question is whose window was it, and were you trying to get in or out?, I have had similar “adventures” years ago, many years ago, mainly down to the demon drink and certain ladies who were not as attractive as I first thought, ah happy days….I think!!

        1. I still could be,but as the saying goes the spirit is willing but the flesh it is weak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Phewwwwww!!!! Thank God Mane is built like a tank. If it had been Studge, we would be still vacuuming the pieces off the turf 🙂
Joking aside, hope Studge gets back soon.

    1. he’s fit apparently. Expecting 60 from him on Saturday – small possibility that it’ll be 60 from Orig and then 30 from Danny.
