Liverpool handed Milner boost ahead of Watford challenge

Reds vice-captain missed win at Palace through illness but will be ready for Sunday’s game at Anfield

Milner has now recovered from illness and will be back in full training as Klopp’s players reconvene at Melwood on Tuesday after two days off to begin their preparations for the visit of Watford.

Klopp insisted he was happy with Moreno’s performance against Palace, saying: “There was never a doubt about Alberto.

“He is a young player and needs to learn a lot of things. Sometimes he’s a little bit too passionate in defending. But he is still young and can learn things.

“You see he is quick, has a good left foot, a good attitude and runs up and down. It’s nice for a manager to work with boys like this.”

However, with Milner back available, Moreno is likely to drop to the bench this weekend. Milner had been in excellent form prior to his enforced absence – adjusting expertly to the demands of playing left-back.
