Lovren trying to sort out injury woes in Germany

Dejan Lovren has travelled to Germany in an effort to cure himself of a persistent knee problem.

The Croatian has missed recent Liverpool games with the issue, and remained on Merseyside when manager Jürgen Klopp took his side to Spain for warm-weather training last weekend.

His absence from that break in La Manga – and continued struggles with injury – make it unlikely he will feature in next Monday’s Premier League game at Leicester City.

The 27-year-old has been trying to play through the pain and hoped the period of rest and treatment would solve the problem, but now further specialist advice will be sought.
