Juve in for Emre?
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims Italian champions Juventus are keeping an eye on Liverpool’s Emre Can.
According to Di Marzio, Juventus are in the market for a midfielder, and Emre Can, due to his quality and the present situation with his contract, has emerged (again) as a possible target. He also states that the initial contact has been made between the Turin club and Can’s representatives. Should they fail to reach an agreement with Liverpool FC on a contract extension this summer, Can will be entering the final 12 months of the current deal, which would in turn give encouragement to the Italian champions that they could get the services of the German international for a very reasonable price. Beside Can, they are also looking at Tolisso and Fabinho.
After the winter slump suffered by the whole team came to an end and Liverpool sprang back to life on the pitch, Emre Can was among the most influential players, putting in some excellent performances and scoring some vital goal, including the Premier League Goal of the Season against Watford.
Only 23, Can has been a very important player for the Reds since his arrival at the club in 2014, and losing him at such a vital stage of Liverpool’s project under Jurgen Klopp would be a heavy blow. The club therefore need to do what it takes to make sure Emre feels he is at the place where he should be.
