A Confidence Booster at the Amex : Brighton vs Liverpool Player Ratings

Another game, another good win. Good job from the lads, improving the goal difference vastly. This win would boost the confidence of the lads with the important Champions League game against Spartak coming up midweek.

So now, let’s move on to the individual ratings now :

Mignolet – 7.5

The Belgian had a pretty quiet day apart from that big save which might have been the match-defining one.

Alexander-Arnold – 8

The youngster was bursting forward at every possible opportunity and should’ve got the assist if Firmino hadn’t fluffed the chance early on. A tremendous tackle towards the end of the game was very crucial at 1-3.

Can – 8

A very solid performance from the German who got the first goal of the game and lifted the whole team. Was pretty good defensively as well.

Lovren – 7

Had pretty much nothing to do but was good when required. Lovren is slowly building up his confidence back as well.

Robertson – 7

Just the second start for him in the league this season. The young Scot was energetic although there wasn’t much of an impact on the game from his side.

Henderson – 7

Gave away the cheap penalty to Brighton. Other than that, he was good and kept the passing game going in the middle of the park. Picked some good long passes down to the flanks as well.

Milner – 7

Decent performance from Milly today. Kept the game going in the midfield and tried to connect the attack to the midfield often.

Wijnaldum – 6.5

Gini was played in more of a deeper role and did often seem as our third center-back. He pretty much had nothing to do as well and wasn’t as involved in the game as the others. Typical away Gini.

Coutinho – 8.5

The Brazillian was very well the MOTM today. Wonderful performance from the little magician. Wonderful assist to set-up Firmino for the second goal and a cheeky yet superb free-kick to close the game late on. This is exactly why Barcelona want him.. Keep your hands off our little guy Barcelona !!

Salah – 7

The top scorer in the league couldn’t manage to score today despite getting a couple of good chances to put one away. It’s harsh to expect him to score every single time though.

Firmino – 8.5

A strong MOTM contender as well. Scored the two important goals, both on counters. Started the attack for the goals as well. A very big boost for the Samba star with the Champions League game on the horizon midweek.

Subs :

Oxlade-Chamberlain – 6

Late substitution in the game and didn’t do anything in particular.

Solanke – N/A

Grujic – N/A
