Liverpool are still assessing the injury England Under-17 World Cup-winning striker Rhian Brewster sustained in the under-23s’ defeat to Manchester City.
The 17-year-old was carried off at the end of the first half in the 3-2 loss on Friday before being taken to hospital, and it is understood he has ankle ligament damage.
However, there is no indication yet whether the teenager will require an operation.
Brewster made a name for himself in the summer when he starred as one of the leading lights in England Under-17s World Cup win.
The striker is highly regarded at Anfield, and has been working under the tutelage of Reds legend Steven Gerrard.
Brewster has been under Gerrard’s guidance since the former midfield maestro took up the position as youth team manager at the start of the season.
