Chelsea youngster Isaac Christie-Davies, who is out of contract this summer, is set to be Liverpool’s first signing for the summer.
That is according to an ESPN report, which claimed that the Reds will take advantage of the situation and sign the 20 year old on a free transfer. This is after the youngster had impressed academy staff while on trial.
If the transfer is to be completed, Christie-Davies will be the second Chelsea youth to join the Merseyside giants in as many years. However unlike Dominic Solanke, Christie-Davies is likely to join the academy squad instead of the first team.
Another crucial part of the deal is that the Reds are not required to pay a compensation fee for Christie-Davies’ services, unlike the deal involving Solanke.
A two-time FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League winner at Chelsea, the player’s arrival should be confirmed in the coming days.
