Fekir Deal ‘99% Done’, Talisca On His Way Too?

According to French television Canal+, the deal to take Lyon’s Nabil Fekir to Liverpool is ‘99% done’.

There is no way to determine the reliability of such claims of course. If football stuff regarding transfers has taught us anything, it is that nothing, not even the outlet’s reputation can’t tell us much until we see the lean.

However, there are some signs that can sometimes help in drawing a conclusion. On Saturday, Lyon beat OGC Nice at home by 3-2 in the last round of the 2017/18 Ligue 1 campaign, and thus secured third place and Champions League football for next season. Fekir was substituted in the 84th minute, and he was unusually emotional in that moment. Tears seemed to have appeared on his face which he buried into his shirt for moment, before bidding farewell to his teammates and the fans in the stadium.

It certainly looked like a final goodbye. But if what Canal+ say is true, the confirmation by the clubs is not very likely to come before the Champions League final next Saturday.

Over in Turkey, Besiktas manager Senol Gunes hinted their forward Anderson Talisca may be coming our way too. He informed the public with regret that Talisca is leaving the club, and that he cannot speak the name of the destination club yet. But he did say Talisca would become a rival of Cenk Tosun, a striker that in January this year made the switch from Besiktas – to Everton.

Naturally, it remains anybody’s guess if Liverpool are indeed the club Gunes was talking about, but it does seem that way.

Let’s bear in mind that nothing is confirmed by any of the usually reliable sources, but if these rumours are true, it would be great news. It would mean Jurgen Klopp, Michael Edwards and the gang are looking to wrap up as much business as possible as soon as possible, before the World Cup starts and the minds of the entire football world drift over to Russia. It would also mean as much of the squad assembled for the start of the pre-season as possible.

With Fekir potentially coming and Naby Keita’s arrival imminent, it seems the midfield section of the squad will get a huge quality boost. Meanwhile, Talisca looks like a player that would provide some valuable cover for the front three.
