PSG right-back Dani Alves has said that the French outfit must improve their record in the Champions League to increase their chances of getting their hands on the trophy.
In the last five years, Paris have not reached the Semifinals of Europe’s prestige competition. In 2017 under the guidance of Unai Emery, the reigning Ligue 1 Champions were mortified by FC Barcelona in the second leg at Camp Nou after taking an unassailable 4-0 lead in the first leg.
New manager Thomas Tuchel has a gigantic task in his hand as his side needs to overcome last season runners-up Liverpool and Carlo Ancelloti’s Napoli to enter the knock out stages of the Champions League. In addition to that, another tough trip to Serbia’s capital Belgrade is on the cards for PSG.
Speaking to the press, the Brazilian right-back told, ” We need to be careful for the next game because we play against a bigger, bigger club ( Liverpool ), and this competition is very, very hard. For this reason, we have to be little bit more careful than other matches, but we accept the challenge from the group, from the competition, and we need to do something different than last season.”
Paris Saint Germain travel to Anfield to face Liverpool on 18th September as they prepare to improve their European record and stamp their authority in Europe.
