Latest on Milner and Lallana

James Milner was forced off the pitch in Liverpool’s goalless draw against Manchester City on Sunday after 28 minutes, and according to James Pearce of Liverpool Echo, he’s facing some time out of action.

After 28 minutes of the clash had gone, Milner sat down by himself feeling his hamstring. Naby Keita came on to replace him as the teams went on to split the points, and after the game he underwent a scan which revealed some minor damage on the hamstring.

Milner is now set to miss the Huddersfield trip which is scheduled for the weekend after the international break, and is also a major doubt for the games that follow – at home against Red Star Belgrade and Cardiff City.

This will represent a certain blow for Jurgen Klopp as the vice-captain has been on very good form this season. The manager will now have to reshuffle the midfield.

However, his job will be made slightly more doable and his options boosted by the return of Adam Lallana. The former Southampton man is now back in full training which is certainly good news in light of the absence of Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
