Sturridge Award, Mane Update

Daniel Sturridge has won the club’s Standard Chartered Player of the Month award for September.

Sturridge started twice and made four appearances in total last month, finding the opposition net three times and picking up an award for Premier League’s Goal of the Month for his superb last-gasp strike at Stamford Bridge.

The striker topped the list ahead of centre-back Virgil van Dijk and midfielder James Milner in third place, and the recognition he received is more than deserved.

Meanwhile, the club have provided an update on the injury of Sadio Mane. The Senegalese forward suffered a broken thumb on international duty, and has successfully undergone a minor surgery procedure. It was conducted at a north-west hospital under close supervision from the club’s medical staff.

His condition will now be monitored closely ahead of the Huddersfield trip on Saturday.
