It’s that time again, the dreaded international break
I’m not the biggest fan of internationals! But we just have to accept it as it’s part of the game, one positive is that Brazil play in England this time round. So no long distant flights for Bobby and Co. Let’s hope we’ve a clean bill of health after these games. We always seem to pick up injuries during these breaks.
Jürgen is happy for most of his players to leave
Naby Keita needs minutes and so does Jordan Henderson. But Klopp wants Joe Gomez to get a rest and is in “discussions” with English manager Gareth Southgate. The 21 year old has already played 17 times this season, after the 2-0 win today Liverpool’s manager said:
“If you ask me I always want them to stay here.
“In this case Guinea they play one game against Ivory Coast and he (Keita) is fit for four or five days so to play another game is brilliant for him.
“Most of the players only have one game: England and Brazil have two games, which is not too good, especially with the latest game on Tuesday night so it is good Brazil are in England and not elsewhere, so the travel stress will not be too much.
“Joe had all the games, we are not sure, we are in talks about that. Hendo is 100 per cent fit and needs games as well. That’s cool.”
Our next match after the international break is on Saturday 24th November at 3pm away to Watford. Man City face an away trip to West Ham at the same time and Chelsea have a tough trip to Wembley to play Spurs.
