Are City feeling the heat?

There’s still a long way to go this season

But as we approach the half-way point, things couldn’t have gone any better. It’s all clicking into gear for Liverpool, Mo Salah’s form has improved, Virgil Van Dijk has been immense. The defence has been rock solid, only conceding a mere 7 goals in 18 games, with 11 clean sheets already this season. Fabinho, has become a regular in the team and Jordan Henderson had a rock solid performance against Wolves. The team as a whole, have been brilliant, Gini Wijnaldum is having a great season. James Milner’s playing at right-back, like he’s played their in all of his 501 Premier League games. Even Andy Robertson’s making ex-managers tired with his non-stop running. With optimism at an all time high, we just need our rivals to lose their cool.

Was yesterday that day?

Only time will tell, Pep Guardiola, will see it as an opportunity to talk Liverpool up as title favourites, just to take the pressure away from his side. As Jürgen Klopp has done recently at his press conference before the Wolves match, he said,

Only City can stop City, to be honest.

“We have to play our own game and get as many points as possible.

“I would say we are always motivated at the highest level so where could we put this extra portion, saying if City lost then it makes us more motivated? That doesn’t work. We are really concentrating on our situation.

“But we are in December. Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal – they are so close. I shouldn’t think about one opponent or we are the only one that can stop City.”

If we can remain unbeaten until we go to the Etihad, our confidence will be at an all time high, and who knows what could happen. After yesterday’s game, when City lost 3-2 at home to Crystal Palace, it proves that Manchester City aren’t infallible.

We just need to take things game by game

Next up for us, is a home match against Newcastle on Boxing day, and then Arsenal come to Anfield.

City have to go away to Leicester City and Southampton. Leicester will be confident after a win away to Chelsea and The Saints are flying, after beating Arsenal and Huddersfield. Let’s hope that Danny Ings can do us a favour. He’s been in fine form this season.

One thing we know is that Liverpool will remain top for Christmas, and hopefully for the rest of the season.

Merry Christmas ❄☃️??  YNWA
