It’s getting closer to the January transfer window and the rumours are intensifying. Here’s the latest rumours from the tabloids and internet. I’ll give some insight into each player and rate them out of 10. The ratings will be based on the probability of them signing for Liverpool and the potential of each player.
The recently capped French international is the latest player linked with Liverpool. According to the Daily Mirror, Liverpool, Everton, Man City, and Arsenal are keeping tabs on the Lyon midfielder. This player is great at dribbling, has a great pass and has so much potential, he’s similar in ways to Kante. At only 21 years-old, he’s the potential to become the next big thing. He won’t come cheap to any club as Lyon are tough negotiators , as we’ve found out in the past.
I’m rating this one: 6 out of 10. I don’t see Jean-Michel Aulas wanting to part ways with this young talented lad. It’ll take an astronomical bid to secure his signature, and we’re not currently looking for a player in that position as we’ve got, Fabinho and Keita. So I can’t see any truth in this rumour.
The Croatian international is currently on loan at Seria A side Fiorentina, Marko, hasn’t had the most successful of season’s in Florence so far, but is likely to remain at Viola until the summer. The club have an option to buy the Croat for €20 million, if they wish to keep him. It remains unclear if he’s got a future at Juventus, as He’s way down the pecking order with the likes of Mandzukic, Ronaldo, Dybala, Cuadrado, Douglas Costa and many more. Pjaca can play on either wing but his preferred position is left wing. The 23-year-old would represent great value at €20 million if a deal could be struck. If I was Jürgen, I’d keep a close eye on this one. This player has pace, skill, power, great dribbling skills and is technically gifted.
I’m rating this one: 8 out of 10. This transfer depends on one thing, do Fiorentina want to take the risk on him, how well does he do in the second half of the season. If they don’t go for him we should be all over this transfer. Keep a close eye on this one guys!
This transfer makes so much sense for Liverpool, we need competition for Mane, and Salah. The 25-year-old German international would give Liverpool a new dynamic up-front. He won’t be cheap, but talent doesn’t come cheap. The front three of Liverpool haven’t hit the height’s of last season, which makes this signing a must, he’d bring freshness to the attack. The Parisian club have plenty of attacking talent in their ranks, and Draxler, is down the pecking order. So there’s every chance we could strike a deal. The player is known for his pace, can use both feet, he can play on either wing and played attacking-mid on many occasions. He’s tailor-made for Liverpool.
I’m rating this one: 9 out of 10. This transfer is a no-brainer, if Draxler is available we need to be after him. Our problem this season is consistency from our front three, Mane, Salah, and Firmino, can have two bad games and still walk back into the team. Manchester City have world class replacements in every position, so to compete with the best sides you need to improve your squad. If we want to win the Premier League we need to get this player in!
Isco ( Francisco Román Alarcón Suárez)
Rumours are rife that Real Madrid are considering offers for Isco. The 26-year-old Spanish international has a €700 million buy-out-clause in his contract. Isco, has grown frustrated of late, as he’s found minutes hard to come by since new manager Solari took charge. Ex-Spain, and Madrid manager, Del Bosque, has recently came out and criticised Isco’s behaviour. He said,
“Isco? The coach must do his homework and the player must know when he is playing and when he does not play, he must know how to behave in an exemplary manner within a group.”
Madrid have had an indifferent season, with poor League form and playing well in the Champions League. There’s a rebuilding operation going on at Real now and there’s every possibility that Isco could be sold to fund it. One thing’s for sure is his valuation will have to be reconsidered. Isco is a highly gifted player, he can play a pass through the eye of a needle, He’s dynamic, skillfull, amazing at dribbling and has a great finish. He usually plays attacking-mid, he can play on the wings or from deeper too. He won’t come cheap if Real decide to part ways.
I’m rating this one: 10 out of 10. Every top club will want this lad, he’s a top top player and if Liverpool somehow convinced him to sign it would be the signing of the century.
Matthijs de Ligt
Big Virgil’s international partner won’t come cheap to any club, rumours have it that Ajax have set an asking price on this young lad. Rumours have it that Barcelona contacted Ajax to try sign the 19-year-old Center-back. The 6ft 2, Dutch international is one of the brightest prospects in World football. If Liverpool wanted to enter the frame we could try convince this young man to come play alongside his fellow compatriot. With a rumoured valuation of £60 million that would represent great value in today’s market. We could secure our defence for years to come. The only way I can describe Matthijs, is he’s a carbon copy of Big Virgil, great in the air, comfortable on the ball, and great at passing. Age is certainly on his side too. I can see Barcelona breaking the World record transfer fee on this signing.
I’m rating this one: 7 out of 10. The reason it’s only 7 is because I feel Barca might have a deal in place already to secure his services. Otherwise it’s a 10 from me.
According to reports from Goal, Liverpool are keeping a close eye on this player. With Juventus, Napoli, Inter, and Chelsea also interested. The 21-year-old has already won 11 caps for Italy. The player won’t come cheap as he’s highly regarded by his Club. Fiorentina slapped a £62 million price tag on his head, and it’s rumoured that they won’t do business in the January window. Chiesa has been utilised in many positions, he usually operates as a left winger, but can play across the front and attacking-mid. He’s a versatile player and would suit Liverpool’s counter press style. It remains to be seen if Jürgen Klopp has an interest in this player. His valuation would put off most clubs.
I’m rating this one: 4 out of 10. I don’t think Frederico is value for money and I just can’t see us going for this player, Juventus usually get the pick of the best Italian players and I can’t see that change.
The 23-year-old Mexican international plys his trade in the Dutch League with PSV Eindhoven. Lozano usually plays on the left wing, as he loves to cut inside and shoot with his right foot, he can also play through the middle. The former Director of Football for PSV, described him as having a low centre of gravity simular to Messi, he said,
“When you look at his playing style, without wanting to compare, you know, Lozano has what Messi also has – a centre of gravity low to the ground, the ball is usually quickly under control, very explosive and agile.”
Obviously he wasn’t comparing him to Messi, but players like Lozano are a joy to watch, and it would be an amazing coup if we could sign him.
I’m rating this one: 10 out of 10. I watched this player in the World Cup and he had the Fans on the edge of their seats with his explosive play. Imaging him running down the wings at Anfield! This player will be at a big club soon, and I just hope it’s Liverpool. His dream is to play in the Premier League so make it happen.
