Lallana Adamant About Liverpool Stay
Adam Lallana is absolutely adamant about not leaving Liverpool this summer.
As reported by Ian Doyle of Liverpool Echo, the attacking midfielder said there’s absolutely no question about his future with the club, despite featuring very little during the 2018/19 season. He made 16 appearances in all competitions, six from the start, scoring no goals and assisting none either. He has been heavily plagued by injuries throughout the campaign.
However, the 31-year-old claims he’s been told that he has a big part to play in what comes next after the Champions League triumph, and his heart seems set on doing his best for Liverpool.
Lallana’s work-rate and desire to give his all for the team have never been in question, and neither has his technical ability or tactical astuteness. Much like Daniel Sturridge, who will leave the club upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the month, injuries have been his greatest enemy.
As for the duration of his contract, the former Southampton captain is about to enter its final 12 months, but presuming he stays fit for the most of it, it may turn out a wise move to keep him, as a potential sale at this point wouldn’t be likely to generate any significant funds.
