Liverpool end Lovren talks with Roma
Liverpool have ended the talks with AS Roma about a potential transfer of Dejan Lovren to the Italian capital, according to multiple sources.
Liverpool end talks with AS Roma over the transfer of Dejan Lovren. Despite suggesting they would pay around £18 million, the Serie A club has failed to table an official proposal and instead used intermediaries to negotiate a small loan fee.

From what the ever-reliable Paul Joyce says, it would appear that Roma were practically wasting Liverpool’s time with their apparent interest. It would certainly make no sense for the Reds to let the Croatian leave on loan, never mind the indication of a £18 million fee being prepared.
Roma wanted an initial loan for Dejan Lovren – that wouldn’t have made any sense for #LFC so talks ended. Right decision to keep him. Klopp needs four senior centre-backs with Liverpool competing on so many fronts.

So unless another offer/suitor appears, it seems Jurgen Klopp will have four senior centre-backs at his disposal this season. AC Milan were also reportedly interested, but no talks have been held with them.
