Milner signs new Liverpool contract

Friday the 13th wasn’t too bad for Liverpool FC and their supporters. The deal to sign Takumi Minamino from RB Salzburg is agreed, pending the medical, Jurgen Klopp has signed a new contract keeping him at the club until 2024, and now James Milner put his name on the dotted line too.

With his old contract set to expire at the end of the season, many people feared his departure in the summer with reports linking him with a return to Leeds United. However, the vice-captain obviously believes his place is still at Liverpool and has committed to the club until 2022, when he will have turned 36.

The importance of Mr. Versatility to the success the team has achieved recently under the command of Klopp can hardly be exaggerated. Since his arrival as a free agent from Manchester City as a free agent, Milly has played 198 games wearing the Red shirt, scoring 25 goals and laying on 40 assists in that time.

But as for the man himself, he would like nothing better than celebrating the extension by beating Watford today.
