Brewster joins Swansea on loan for the rest of the season

Rhian Brewster has completed a loan move to Swansea City for the rest of the season, the club have confirmed.

The 19-year-old striker stayed with the first team following the departure of Daniel Sturridge last summer, but with the form Jurgen Klopp’s main men are showing throughout the campaign, he hasn’t been able to get the game-time he should to benefit his development. Now there’s another option in newcomer Takumi Minamino, and it makes perfect sense for Brewster to get some minutes elsewhere.

The Swans sit sixth in the Championship at the moment, and manager Steve Cooper, formerly of the LFC Academy, who coached Brewster with England’s U-17 team, will be hoping that the arrival of the talented youngster will help his team’s push for promotion.
